| CLIENT TESTIMONIALS Natalie J 3/28/13 Yelp Review Canine country club has always taken great care of my pup! They listen to puppy cut style requests and are super friendly! Cant ask for more from a groomer! I have been using them for years and will not switch! Kevin C 2/18/13 Yelp Review CCC is the best boarding place I have found in Dallas. My dog absolutely loves going there for not only overnight boarding, but for daycare as well. The staff is very friendly and treats your dog the way you would want him/her treated when you aren't around. Especially if you have an active dog that loves to play and be outdoors, there is no better place to send them when you go out of town than CCC. Andrew C 1/14/13 Yelp Review We've used CCC numerous times to board our golden retriever, and will continue to do so. All the staff are courteous, nice, and good with the dogs, and the groomers do an excellent job. The price is probably on the high end for boarding, but since our dog really enjoys the outdoor time and since they don't add on a lot of extra charges that other kennels tend to, it usually works out the same. I know some people on here have complained at the number of vaccinations required, but that is something that I am happy to pay for and take comfort in the fact that my dog won't come home infected. Valerie C 11/14/12 Yelp Review I've been taking my dog, Kelly, to Canine Country Club for 8 years. I have only once boarded her somewhere else when they were full, and it made me realize the difference and appreciate them more! I travel a lot and need to board her about 7-10 days a month. When she is at CCC, I don't worry a bit about her. The front desk girls are very nice and professional. My paperwork is always ready and waiting for me. I'd prefer they weren't so expensive, but they give a 10% frequent boarding discount. I wish they had a web cam. It would be nice to be able to watch and check on her. I do like that they post pictures, though. All in all, I'd give them five stars! Vicki C. 11/10/12 Yelp Review The groomers and staff at Canine Country Club are exceptional. My experiences over the last couple of years have been great. Courteous and professional experience. Vicki C. Terri Anne N 10/4/12 Yelp Review I take my dog to doggie day care as much as possible because he loves it so much. Grooming is great, too, and price is on par with others in the area. Highly recommend! Finely H. 10/1/12 Yelp Review I have been taking my mini schnauzer to CCC for 3 years and she loves it! The staff is so caring and responsible, and they are truly dedicated to the dogs and their owners. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone in need of boarding or doggie day care : ) James F. 9/12/12 Yelp Review My wife and I have been using the Canine Country Club for several years for our Lab , Max and we're impressed with the service . They have a great facilitiy in the country with people who genuinely care and really take care of your dog. The staff is very warm and friendly from start to fnish. Max comes back with a fresh bath and even a nicely cleaned , fresh bed. He's happy going and returning. Dr. Kores , the on site vet is terrific You'll be happy too. Sincerely, Jim F Sherry Levin 9/17/12 Yelp Review Canine Country Club is a superb boarding facility with wonderful facilities in the countryside including a lake and large indoor/outdoor runs, great staff at Ennis (the Country Club) as well as the drop-off in Dallas, and knowledgeable and available vets. Ashley and the staff at the daycare/drop are friendly and organized; the staff in the country know each dog by name and take great care of every dog. Dr. Kores is the vet onsite at the Country Club and she is superb; she makes sure the dogs are UTD on all vaccines and preventative but also is a great diagnotic vet if your dog needs medical treatment. She is backed up by the great vets at Highland Park Animal Clinic so you know if anything was concerning about your dog, he would get great vet care as soon as it was noticed at drop-off or out in the country. I appreciate that because we are often traveling out of the country and not readily available. My Labrador Retriever has always come back from his vacation in the country slim and trim and happy; he is always healthy and bathed without any traveling critters. I went out to visit the site in Ennis to be sure Max would be happy and found spotless runs, clean grounds with huge play yards and lake and happy dogs in large indoor/outdoor runs which are air-conditioned and heated. The dogs are let out into the play yards several times/ day in size-appropriate groups with supervision and playtime at no extra charge. For my dog who is used to having the run of the house, it is important that he have plenty of free play time so that he is not kenneled for our whole vacation (which would be torture for him.) I would recommend the Canine Country Club to anyone looking for a great boarding facility with lots of room and playtime as well as an affiliation with a well-known and respected vet clinic available to care for any dog in their care. Christine Lau reviewed 10 months ago Quality Excellent - Google Review My dog's name is Evolie and most people cannot pronounce it (named after evolution, sounds like Emily). However, at this place the staff is friendly and always remember my dog and her name! The staff really seems dedicated to the dogs happiness. They seem to be very caring. They are also observant, when Evolie had a cut on her face (from my cats at home) they called me to ask me about to make sure she was ok. I highly recommend this place for doggie day care! Susan English 8/14/12 Yelp Review Canine Country Club! Wow! Where do I start? I LOVE them! I have a VERY pregnant AKC English Bulldog (Ms. Ruby) & a mature AKC German Shepherd (Doc Hollywood). They have become my family/companions since my children are grown & I'm divorced. I would NOT trust them in the care of JUST ANYBODY! I was a real PAIN the 1st time I used these people! I now know that I can fully trust their every move! NEVER have I ever picked the "kids" up with a blemish or issue-NEVER! Always, happy & cheerful. Thank you guys for being so very caring & compassionate in all you do! It's home away from home for my kids & I rest comfortably knowing they are absolutely in the BEST hands-next to mine! Momma is always the best! Thank you again! Ashley T. 2/29/12 Yelp Review Everyone at CCC is incredibly helpful, kind, and patient (I can be a bit of an overbearing mom). My dog does not play well with others, but they did a great job of accomodating her. Every time she came home she was clean and exhausted (I'm guessing from all the play time). They charge about average rates but in my opinion it's worth every penny because I can leave my baby there and have complete peace of mind. I definitely recommend it. Kathi Lind 12/22/11 Yelp Review I have every confidence that CCC treats my 2 dogs almost as well as I do. I know they are happy and busy while they are there, even my problem child pup. They show absolutely no signs of fear or separation anxiety when they are dropped off, and when they return home they are back to normal as soon as we walk in the door. All good signs. I take great comfort knowing they are affiliated with great vet care, if needed. The staff is the best, and the facility is clean. No one likes to leave their dogs, but CCC is my choice for boarding. Leanne H. 12/21/11 Yelp Review I have been taking my dogs to Canine Country Club for over a year and they are the best! Their level of service is always outstanding and they clearly love their job and taking care of dogs. They are always helpful and efficient with scheduling and drop off/pick up. I use them for grooming, doggie daycare, and boarding at their country retreat. Joette Y. 11/26/11 Yelp Review After recently moving back from the Bay Area I was worried about finding a place that Jackson would love as much as his home away from home in SF. Jackson makes himself at home, letting himself into the back for play time as soon as we walk in. He comes out happy every time. After weekend stays at the 'ranch' he gives me a good day of peace while he sleeps it off. My only wish is that day care for Saturday or Sunday would be an option. Otherwise they are always great and the staff are very nice and friendly. Samantha R. 1/18/11 Yelp Review The facility looks amazing! I just dropped my dog off for grooming there for the first time and I felt very comfortable leaving my Princess there in their care. The staff made me feel welcome and gave me a small tour and I couldn't stop laughing at the tv in their small dog daycare! I'm impressed and I think Princess would love to watch some tv and play with the other dogs, I would! They're so cute! Apparently they have a boarding facility outside of Dallas where there is a pond the dogs can swim in when it's warm and the kennel is very large from the pictures they showed me. I like the location, the area is quiet and the parking isn't a problem at all which is nice from the last place I was taking my dog to... Stephen H. 9/8/11 Yelp Review This place is tops and the price is actually average or below in the industry. (35-38 per night) Sameer actually saved 20 per day. The professional staff is friendly, facilities spotless and every one of my clients raves about the treatment of their dogs. In closing, CCC deserves a much higher rating than 3 stars simply because the person rating is a cheap skate. Being in the pet services industry for years many of our clients have used "friends" and family in the past..to save a buck with disastrous results..but you get what you pay for. Perhaps a gerbil is a better option. Angelica W. 7/11/10 Yelp Review When the kennel I usually board my little one at completely screwed up her reservation for the weekend of July 4th, I called Canine Country Club. They were very accommodating and got my dog worked in immediately. She stayed with them for five days. The price to board at Canine Kennel Club is the same as the price I paid daily at my old kennel ($35, keep in mind I have a 10-pound Pomeranian), but Canine Country Club not only has better boarding amenities (bigger room, designated running area, lake view), but also has built in play time (I had to pay $15 for EACH play session at my old kennel) with the dogs three times a day, and this is included in the $35/day charge for boarding. I was very happy about this! By far though, the best was how well Panda was groomed. I have a softer haired Pomeranian, and unlike really puffy Poms, her fur is much smoother, which also means it mattes very easily! She has to be brushed consistently, and she absolutely hates it. When I picked her up, the groomers had done an AMAZING job. Her fur is still so smooth, silky, and shiny, and she still smells so fresh and clean still, even today, a week or so after she was groomed! Sameer M. 8/13/08 Yelp Review We've dropped off our brood several times and they've come back every time, happy, bathed and generally in a good mood. The girls are very friendly and have always been very accommodative. I wish they had webcams so I could seen my pups when I'm out of town. They get to play by the lake which is cool. Since I have two dogs, one big and one small (160lbs, and 25lbs), I get the suite which they share. The "suites" are no smaller than some of the youth hostels I've stayed in. More expensive than some places, cheaper than others. A Google User reviewed 4 years ago Overall Excellent I've boarded my dog here multiple times. Never had any issue with fleas. They give all of the dogs a Capstar (kills all fleas currently on the body in under 1 hour) and a dewormer when you drop them off so that their facility stays flea and worm free. They give all of the dogs another Capstar when you pick them up just to make sure you don't bring any home with you. From what I can tell, my dog loves this place. I went to their open house this spring to see their facility. The people down there were incredibly nice and the place was clean. The dogs looked like they were all having fun. The best part of this place is that you can drop your dog off in Dallas, and he or she gets to spend the week out in the country (they drive all of the dogs down to their place in Ennis). I will definitely keep using The Canine Country Club. I would recommend it to anyone whose dog loves to run around and play. SKIN CARE & GROOMING Your pet's skin is the largest organ in their body and is a great indicator for determining if there are any internal health problems. The skin and hair are both gateways to the embodiment of your animal's inner health and well-being. Shiny hair, that is, a hair coat that exudes a healthy and lustrous sheen, is an indicator of overall health of your animal. Regular grooming and bathing can also expose underlying skin conditions such as allergies, skin irritations, fleas, or fungal infections such as ring worm. The best ways to keep your pet healthy are good nutrition, annual examinations by your veterinarian, plenty of exercise, and regular bathing/grooming. Skin Care Grooming Client Testimonials Nutrition ROUTINE BLOOD WORK With routine blood work a Veterinarian can ensure your pet's internal system is working correctly. Blood work can uncover unapparent illness or serve as a healthy baseline per reference when your pet becomes ill. It is always a good idea to do routine blood work to know your pet is healthy inside and out. PREVENTING PARASITES Flea protection *Capstar - eliminates all fleas on your pet for 24 hours, given upon entry and discharge to ensure a flea free enviroment. *Frontline - topical flea control *Comfortis - oral monthly flea control Internal Parasite Control *Interceptor - controls heartworms, hookworms, round worms, and whip worms. For monthly protection, when your pet is not staying with us, it is important to keep your pet on a heartworm preventative, and flea prevention - we offer the following products for maintenence. Controlling fleas also protects your pet against tapeworms. Heartworm is parasitic that spreads from host to host through the bites of mosquitoes. Early signs include a cough, especially on exercise and early exhaustion upon exercise. In the most advanced cases where many adult worms have built up in the heart without treatment, signs progress to severe weight loss, fainting, coughing up blood and, finally, congestive heart failure. PREVENTATIVE VACCINES The duration of immunity conferred by vaccination is different for the various diseases for which your dog is immunized. DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus) vaccine is protective for 3 years after the first adult booster. Some rabies vaccines are also protective for 3 years after the first adult booster. Leptospirosis vaccine protects for only one year. Leptospirosis is a zoonotic disease that can be spread from wildlife to dogs and from dogs to humans. Bordetella vaccine can protect up to one year but is recommended every 6 months for dogs with frequent exposure such as boarding, grooming, day care, or dog parks. Bordetella: Kennel Cough The most prevalent upper respiratory problem in dogs in the United States and is highly contagious in dogs. Dry hacking cough sometimes followed by retching. Many owners describe the cough as having a 'honking sound.' A watery nasal discharge may also be present. With mild cases, dogs continue to eat and be alert and active. Many times, there is a recent history of boarding or coming in contact with other dogs. DHPP: Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus Distemper Virus - Attacks the lungs and affects the function of the brain and spinal cord. This disease is nearly 100% fatal. Hepatitis - Canine adenovirus affects the liver and can cause loss of vision. Parainfluenza - Viral infection of the respiratory system. Parvovirus - Attacks the lining of the intestinal tract and damages the heart of very young puppies. Can be fatal even with treatment. Leptospirosis Leptospirosis is a zoonotic disease that is caused by exposure to several types of the Leptospira bacteria, which can be found in fresh water that has been contaminated by animal urine, especially from livestock and rodents. Leptospirisis is more prevalent in warmer climates. Rabies Vaccination Rabies is widespread in the state of Texas. In all states rabies vaccinations are required by law. Vaccinating your pet for rabies may save its life for two reasons; rabies is a threat in many areas and it is a fatal disease. In addition, an unvaccinated pet that bites a human, even by accident, is subject to long quarantine periods or even death for the purpose of testing for a rabies infection. Canine Influenza Virus Canine influenza is a viral infection of the respiratory system. It can be mild to severe causing nasal discharge or even pnuemonia. This vaccine is recommend for pets that have frequent exposure to other animals such as during boarding, grooming, daycare, and/or dog parks. NUTRITION What diet is best for your dog? HOME HAZARDS The following are some of the most common household items, people foods, and plants that are poisonous to pets. This is NOT an All Inclusive list and if your pet ingests any of the following seek veterinary care immediately. Household Poisons Alcohol Methanol found in windshield washing solutions, isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol, vodka, unbaked bread dough and more are all sources of alcohol consumption by your pet. Most cases will resolve without treatment, but it is always best to consult with your veterinarian if your pet has had exposure. Ant and Roach baits Most of these insecticide products are non-toxic to animals. Two exceptions are products that contain chlorpyrifos or arsenic. Cats are especially sensitive to chlorpyrifos, an organophosphate, causing drooling, vomiting, runny eyes, small pupils, anxiety, urination and diarrhea. Pets should be decontaminated immediately by emesis (vomiting) and activated charcoal. Arsenic is a stomach irritant and will usually cause vomiting, the pet has decontaminated itself. If the animal does not vomit veterinary care should be given. Batteries Button batteries often stick to the esophageal wall causing severe burns. Lithium batteries are more likely to cause esophageal perforation. If batteries have been ingested whole and not bitten into, feed a large soft meal and induce vomiting. If the battery is not expelled surgical removal is suggested. If the battery has been bitten into vomiting may cause further burning of the esophagus lining and surgical removal is the best option. Chocolate Chocolate contains methylxanthines, theobromine and caffeine, which vary in amount depending on the type of chocolate. Baker’s chocolate contains the highest amount of methylxanthines while white chocolate contains very little. Signs of toxicity include increased heart rate, vomiting, diarrhea, hyperactivity, increased urination and drinking of water, lethargy, heart arrhythmias, seizures and death. Inducing vomiting, giving activated charcoal and IV fluids to increase elimination are all methods of treatment your veterinarian may use. Cigarettes Tobacco products contain varying amounts of nicotine. Signs of ingestion/toxicity occur within 15-45 minutes causing excitation, increase breathing rate, salivation, vomiting and diarrhea. This is followed by weakness, twitching, depression, increased heart rate, shallow respirations, collapse coma and even death. If patient is not showing signs of toxicity vomiting should be induced and activated charcoal given. Cleaning Products Most household cleaning products contain acidic or alkaline ingredients, which will cause caustic or corrosive lesions in your pets GI tract. Usually these products have been diluted in water and will result in mild vomiting if ingested. If your pet happens to ingest full strength cleaning products the best course of action is to see your veterinarian for treatment with GI protectants. Fertilizers Most fertilizers will cause mild GI upset. However some fertilizers contain significant amounts of iron which may be toxic to your pet. Fertilizer that contains disulfoton, an organophosphate, are highly toxic to your pet and can cause seizures and pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas) requiring veterinary treatment. Bone meal and blood meal are also used in fertilizers making them palatable to your pet and can cause significant GI upset and may cause an obstruction of your pets GI tract. Mothballs Naphthalene is the active ingredient in most mothballs. Common signs after ingestion are vomiting and blood disorders causing severe anemia. Your pet will need veterinary care immediately if mothballs are ingested by your pet. Antifreeze As little as one teaspoon in a cat or a tablespoon for dogs can be fatal. Signs of early poisoning include acting drunk, incoordination, excessive thirst, and lethargy. Signs usually improve after 12 hours, but internal damage has been done to the kidneys which will result in kidney failure. Immediate treatment is vital after antifreeze ingestion. Mouse and rat poisons (rodenticides) These poisonous baits can be fatal for your pet and if ingested require immediate veterinary care. Rodenticides also pose the potential for relay toxicity; if your pet ingests a mouse or rat that has been poisoned your pet will be poisoned as well. The safest option is to keep all these poisons out of reach from your animals and do not allow your pet to eat small rodents. Top 10 people foods to avoid feeding your pet. Remember, if your animal ingests any of the follow (NOT inclusive list) seek veterinary care. Chocolate, Coffee, Caffeine These products all contain substances called methylxanthines, which are found in cacao seeds, the fruit of the plant used to make coffee and in the nuts of an extract used in some sodas. When ingested by pets, methylxanthines can cause vomiting and diarrhea, panting, excessive thirst and urination, hyperactivity, abnormal heart rhythm, tremors, seizures and even death. Note that darker chocolate is more dangerous than milk chocolate. White chocolate has the lowest level of methylxanthines, while baking chocolate contains the highest. Alcohol Alcoholic beverages and food products containing alcohol can cause vomiting, diarrhea, decreased coordination, central nervous system depression, difficulty breathing, tremors, abnormal blood acidity, coma and even death. Avocado The leaves, fruit, seeds and bark of avocados contain Persin, which can cause vomiting and diarrhea in dogs. Birds and rodents are especially sensitive to avocado poisoning, and can develop congestion, difficulty breathing and fluid accumulation around the heart. Some ingestions may even be fatal. Macadamia Nuts Macadamia nuts are commonly used in many cookies and candies. However, they can cause problems for your canine companion. These nuts have caused weakness, depression, vomiting, tremors and hyperthermia in dogs. Signs usually appear within 12 hours of ingestion and last approximately 12 to 48 hours. Grapes & Raisins Although the toxic substance within grapes and raisins is unknown, these fruits can cause kidney failure. In pets who already have certain health problems, signs may be more dramatic. Yeast Dough Yeast dough can rise and cause gas to accumulate in your pet's digestive system. This can be painful and can cause the stomach or intestines to rupture. Because the risk diminishes after the dough is cooked and the yeast has fully risen, pets can have small bits of bread as treats. However, these treats should not constitute more than 5 percent to 10 percent of your pet’s daily caloric intake. Raw/Undercooked Meat, Eggs and Bones Raw meat and raw eggs can contain bacteria such as Salmonella and E. coli that can be harmful to pets. In addition, raw eggs contain an enzyme called avidin that decreases the absorption of biotin (a B vitamin), which can lead to skin and coat problems. Feeding your pet raw bones may seem like a natural and healthy option that might occur if your pet lived in the wild. However, this can be very dangerous for a domestic pet, who might choke on bones, or sustain a grave injury should the bone splinter and become lodged in or puncture your pet's digestive tract. Xylitol Xylitol is used as a sweetener in many products, including gum, candy, baked goods and toothpaste. It can cause insulin release in most species, which can lead to liver failure. The increase in insulin leads to hypoglycemia (lowered sugar levels). Initial signs of toxicosis include vomiting, lethargy and loss of coordination. Signs can progress to recumbancy and seizures. Elevated liver enzymes and liver failure can be seen within a few days. Onions, Garlic, Chives These vegetables and herbs can cause gastrointestinal irritation and could lead to red blood cell damage. Although cats are more susceptible, dogs are also at risk if a large enough amount is consumed. Toxicity is normally diagnosed through history, clinical signs and microscopic confirmation of Heinz bodies. An occasional low dose, such as what might be found in pet foods or treats, likely will not cause a problem, but we recommend that you do NOT give your pets any of these foods. Top 10 poisonous plants to dogs and cats Remember, if your animal ingests any of the follow (NOT inclusive list) seek veterinary care. Lilies Tiger, Day, Adiatic, Easter and Japanese Show lilies are highly toxic and cause kidney failure in cats. Other types of lilies cause minor signs from tissue irritation resulting in drooling. Oleander Extremely toxic especially the leaves and flowers. Ingestion causes severe vomiting, slow heart rate and possibly death. Sago Palm Leaves and seeds can cause vomiting, bloody stools, damage to the stomach lining, severe liver failure and sometimes death. Azalea Same family as Rhododendrons. Common signs after ingestion are vomiting, diarrhea and excessive drooling. Without immediate care your pet could become comatose and possible die. Cyclamen The roots of this particular plant are extremely dangerous and can cause severe vomiting and even death. Kalanchoe Can cause vomiting, diarrhea and heart arrhythmias. Dieffenbachia Popular house and office plant. Ingestion can cause intense oral irritation, drooling, nausea, vomiting and difficulty swallowing. Daffodils Ingestion of the bulb, plant or flower can cause severe vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain and possible heart arrhythmias or respiratory depression. Lilly of the Valley Ingestion can cause vomiting, diarrhea, decreased heart rate, hararrhythmias and possibly seizures. Tulips and Hyacinths The bulbs of these flowers are especially toxic. Small amounts ingested can cause drooling, vomiting and diarrhea. If large amounts are consumed, more severe signs are seen such as an increased heart rate and respiratory changes and veterinary care in necessary. Angelica 7/11/2010 FITNESS Some Unhealthy Truths Pet obesity has become a leading cause of preventable disease and death in dogs and cats. 45% of dogs and 58% of cats in the US are overweight or obese. The primary causes of pet obesity are high calorie diet, carbohydrate based foods, and decreased activity. Major health problems tied to obesity in dogs/ cats include arthritis, back problems, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, cruciate ligament injury, skin disease, and respiratory problems. Weight related disorders in pets not only cause unnecessary suffering, but also cost owners millions of dollars each year. An overweight dog/cat is unlikely to reach its optimal life expectancy. Dogs have an average lifespan of 12 years, but research shows that fit pets live approximately 15% longer than overweight pets. That's a difference of 2 years! Exercise strengthens bone and muscle mass, improves mental health, reduces stress, helps the body remove toxins and waste, enhances metabolic health and improves heart and lung functions as well as slows the aging process. Mothball Naphthalene is the active ingredient in most mothballs. Yeast Dough Yeast dough can rise and cause gas to accumulate in your pet’s digestive system. However, this can be very dangerous for a domestic pet, who might choke on bones, or sustain a grave injury should the bone splinter and become lodged in or puncture your pet’s digestive tract. Tulips and Hyacints The bulbs of these flowers are especially toxic. Small amounts ingested can cause drooling, vomiting and diarrhea. If large amounts are consumed, more severe signs are seen such as an increased heart rate and respiratory changes and veterinary care in necessary. Fleas may contain histamine like substances in their saliva that can cause an allergic reaction. Environmental and pollen allergies can also cause canine atopy (hypersensitivity). Dogs can be allergic to some proteins, fats, and various types of vitamins in dog food. Picking the right food for your pet can also help control allergies. If your dog likes to run and play outside, chase balls, catch frisbees, or swim he will love it! If he likes to lay on his bed and look out the window all day, he will love it! If he is gregarious and likes other dogs, he will love it! However, if your dog is an avowed city dweller or shy and frightened by strange people, animals, or noises, he may not love the camplike experience. Likewise, if he has some medical condition that makes him heat, exercise, or sun intolerant, he may not enjoy the high energy and activity level of outdoor play. For these pets we recommend boarding at Highland Park Animal Hospital. There your pet can receive the one on one attention you desire, but can be monitored by our vets. Highland Park Animal Hospital has a variety of kennels and dog runs to ensure your pets comfort and happiness. Do I need to bring food for my dog? We feed Science Diet Healthy Advantage food for puppies which is a high quality food. This is chicken based. For adult dogs we feed Science Diet Sensitive Stomach which is a veterinary diet that is low fat and highly digestable. If your dog is on a diet prescribed by their Veterinarian, has a sensitive stomach, or you just want your dog to stay on its own food, just bring enough to last for their stay, and the Canine Country Club staff will be happy to feed that instead. If your dog has any other dietary requirements, just let us know, and we will be happy to make the necessary arrangements. How much attention will my dog get? All dogs at the Canine Country Club get morning and evening playtimes. Weather permitting dogs spend about three hours outdoors in supervised playgroups in the morning, and three hours in the evening. Staff members throw balls and frisbees, and also coach the retriever swim team. What happens in the case of an emergency? You will be notified at the emergency number provided on your check-in form. Your pet will be cared for by our staff, and when necessary the veterinarian on staff at Canine Country Club will contact you. On rare occasions it may be necessary to contact a local or emergency veterinarian, such as the Dallas Emergency Animal Clinic. Although we will make every effort to contact you, medical treatment will not be withheld at the expense of your pets comfort and welfare. What vaccinations are required for boarding? All guests must be current on their vaccinations prior to boarding. This includes Rabies, DHPP, Leptospirosis, Canine Influenza, Intestinal Parasite Screen and a negative Heartworm test result all within the past year. Bordetella is also required and must be current within the past 6 months. Please fax to 214-526-2036 prior to boarding or bring a copy when dropping off your pet for boarding. We also require that a Capstar be administered to each pet before and after boarding, as a flea preventative. There will be a $12.00 charge for this medication. In addition to the Capstar, we also administer an oral dewormer, Milbemycin for dogs or Strongid for cats. This is to ensure that your pet and our facility stay parasite free. There is an $8.00 charge for this medication if your pet is under 25 pounds, $13.00 for all pets over 25 pounds. My dog does nothing but sleep after a visit to the Canine Country Club. Is that normal? Many dogs need a few days to rest up after their vacation. The high level of physical activity and the stimulation of spending 24 hours a day with his friends can be exhausting. After a couple of days, your dog should have rested up from his vacation in the country, and be back to his old self. Can I bring my dog's favorite toys, treats, and bed? We have bedding of all sizes from fleece beds to toddler beds. We also keep a selection of toys, balls, ropes, and frisbees for our guests. Please label any personal items sent with your pet and understand that we cannot be responsible for damage that may occur to those items. My dog does not get along with other dogs, will he still be able to play outside? Outdoor playtime is available for all guests twice daily. Private play yards are available as needed. If your dog does not get along with other dogs, or is a non-neutered male, he will still get to play outside in our exercise yards. They will just not be allowed to play with other dogs when they are outside. A friendly staff member will spend time outside with your dog, and they will still have access to our swimming pools. How are the dogs transported to the Canine Country Club kennel? For the convenience of our overnight guests we provide transportation to and from the Canine Country Club kennel located in Ennis. All of our boarders are received and checked in at the Dallas day spa and then chauffeured to the kennel. This is a complimentary transportation service. The Canine Country Club maintains a fleet of custom vans that are used for transportation of our guests. All our vans are air conditioned and heated, and they all have kennels permanently attached inside them. How can I take look at the Canine Country Club facility? We are proud of our facility (and love to show it off!) so each spring we invite our members to join us in Ennis for our annual open house. It gives prospective clients a chance to see the facility before boarding, and gives current Canine Country Club members an afternoon of fun. We can also schedule tours of our facility Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Please schedule your tour with a staff member and feel free to bring your pet(s) with you!! What time should I drop-off and pick-up my pet at the Canine Country Club Day Spa dropoff point? Drop-off days and times: Monday through Saturday 8 am - 10 am Pick-up days and times: Monday from 12:00 - 2:30 pm or 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm, Tuesday through Friday 2:00 pm - 5:30 pm.
